JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director, Content Development position is responsible for the producing of original content pieces created and ideated by the Content Development team within Swordsmen Online. The position will be highly creative in nature and will play an integral role in all phases of the production process, including: development, pre-, and post production. A strong project management background, including budgeting will be essential. The position will be responsible for the creation of production documents and schedules for each production. The ideal candidate will have solid video production skills which should include basic camera work, editing, etc. The position should also be able to tell a linear or non-linear story through editing.
Expectations by Production Phase:
(NOTE: The responsibilities will vary depending on the scope of the projects)
Development: Participate Blue Sky/brainstorm sessions where they will take an active role in the ideation of project conception. They will also help to flesh out any ideas that receive the “green light” to move forward into developing.
Pre-Production: The position will be expected to be involved in any pre-production planning that includes location scouts, research, finding vendors/contractors, etc.
Production: For smaller, “proof of concept” projects, the position will use their video production skills as camera operator, director, and producer. For larger projects, they will be responsible for ensuring projects are on schedule and on budget.
Post Production: For smaller projects (and maintenance) the position will utilize editing/After Effects skills to do post production work on projects. On larger projects, they will be responsible for ensuring projects are on schedule and on budget.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent project management skills that include: budgeting and scheduling
Video production skills that include: camera operation, editing, After Effects, etc
Must be able to tell a story visually (linear & non-linear) through editing
Writing (scripts: sketch, shorts) a plus but not essential
Proficiency with editing/effects software (Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or other relevant software)
Proficiency with MS Office
Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision, including the know-how to produce a low-budget video shoot with minimal crew.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or IT background with proven online communications experience.
Excellent project management skills - with the ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
5+ years experience in intranet/internet design and development.
Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships and manage internal business partners as a key account relationship.
Strong verbal communications skills. Must be able to effectively interact with and present information to employees of all levels, including senior management.
Demonstrated understanding and application of social media technologies in a corporate communications environment.
Excellent copy writing and editing skills and the ability to craft high-impact communications.
Must be creative, open to change, a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and a strategic thinker.
Good knowledge of personal computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Operating Systems (e.g. Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003 etc) Microsoft Front Office and Back Office applications.
Proven development experience using at least one of the following Java, JavaScript, (X)HTML, CSS, XML or PHP.
Experience of Content Management (CM) is highly desirable.
Understanding of issues relating to information security.
